Compliant Egg Gripper
Modeled & Design a gripper that could pick up an egg without cracking it.

The key challenge was to design the flexures to generate enough force to sustain the weight of the egg, but not so much as to crack it.

Gripper Model

Parametric design analysis we did to ensure the egg didn't crack and the beams didn't yield.
Another project for this class was a pencil launcher. We made a compliant flexure device that used stored strain energy to launch a pencil.
Again, we used parametric design optimization to determine the geometry that would shoot the pencil the farthest without yileding the beams. We won furthest pencil launch in the class :)
